Assetto Corsa Competizione is the new official Blancpain GT Series videogame.
Thanks to the extraordinary quality of simulation, the game will allow you to experience the real atmosphere of the GT3 championship, competing against official drivers, teams, cars and circuits reproduced in-game with the highest level of accuracy ever achieved.
Sprint, Endurance and Spa 24 Hours races will come to life with an incredible level of realism, in both single and multiplayer modes.
Assetto Corsa Competizione will feature Blancpain GT Series’ 2018 Season, and will also include Season 2019, that will be provided as a free update during Summer 2019.
Assetto Corsa Competizione is born from KUNOS Simulazioni’s long-term experience, and it takes full advantage of Unreal Engine 4 to ensure photorealistic weather conditions and graphics, night races, motion capture animations, reaching a new standard in terms of driving realism and immersion, thanks to its further improved tyre and aerodynamic models.
Designed to innovate, Assetto Corsa Competizione will be set to promote eSports, bringing players at the heart of the Blancpain GT Series and putting them behind the wheel of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, McLarens and many other prestigious GT racing cars, all reproduced with outstanding level of detail.

REALISTIC SIMULATION
Assetto Corsa Competizione is designed to faithfully recreate the performance and the driving experience of real Blancpain GT Series cars through a sophisticated mathematical model that accurately replicates tyre grip, aerodynamic impact, engine parameters, suspensions and electronics systems that determine vehicle balance, as well as the influence of mechanical damage on the car’s drivability.

NEW-GENERATION GRAPHICS AND VISUAL EFFECTS
Unreal Engine 4 guarantees photorealistic rendering and an accurate representation of scenarios, car materials and weather conditions. Thanks to the multi-channel audio sampling of real GT cars, the game conveys captivating and immersive acoustic surroundings and realistic environmental effects.

CARE FOR DETAILS
Even the secondary details are faithfully reproduced to make you feel the thrill of being in the cockpit of a real racing car. Doors, windshield wipers, headlights, racing lights, racing equipment and control devices such as ABS, traction control, engine ignition and ECU mapping, are all under the driver’s management to assure the best performance and offer the player total control of the car.

THE MOST ACCURATE CIRCUITS
Thanks to Laserscan technology, every official circuit is recreated with the utmost accuracy: all curbs and details perfectly fit their real counterparts to grant a gaming experience as faithful to reality as possible.

ADVANCED MULTIPLAYER FUNCTIONALITY
A well-structured ranking system will evaluate individual performance and driving behaviour to reward the most virtuous drivers and promote fair play in online competitions. The matchmaking function makes sure that you can compete with opponents of similar skill level and easily find online races to join, while the leaderboards will allow you to compare single-lap performance with drivers from all around the world with the same car, circuit and weather conditions.

IMMERSIVE SINGLE PLAYER EXPERIENCE
Career, Championship and Free Play modes offer a complete and customizable gaming experience, also thanks to the tutorials and progressive aid levels that allow you to tailor AI opponent difficulty and vehicle stability control to your abilities. The Special Events will allow you to gain a first-hand experience of the most noteworthy real-life Blancpain GT Series challenges.

HIGH-LEVEL HARDWARE COMPATIBILITY
Assetto Corsa Competizione ensures full compatibility with a wide range of peripherals from gamepads to professional steering wheels.

MOTION CAPTURE FOR REALISTIC ANIMATIONS
Motion capture technology is used to create the animations of mechanics and drivers in an even more realistic fashion, and guarantee a high level of player engagement during races, pit stops and driver changes.

BLANCPAIN GT SERIES
Encouraged by the success of the Blancpain Endurance Series, which after its creation in 2011 quickly became the global reference for GT racing, world-renowned Swiss watch manufacturer Blancpain and the SRO Motorsports Group decided at the end of 2013 to extend their partnership to the Blancpain Sprint Series. From 2015, teams and drivers were also given the opportunity to compete for an overall Blancpain GT Series title. Varied grids were the result, with a host of respected GT teams and drivers at the start of each race. The Blancpain GT Series also saw an influx of young and talented drivers, making it a worldwide benchmark in GT3 racing.
With both the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup and Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup now sharing the same driver categories and points system, the ten-round Blancpain GT Series season – comprising five sprint events and five endurance events – crowns the world’s most complete GT drivers.
A Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup event consists of two races of one hour each, while the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup races range from three-hour events through a 1000 km race to the season highlight of the Total 24 Hours of Spa, one of the world’s leading 24-hour races.

Just so you know
All the stuff you read and saw is NOT in this game … yet.
You get all the stuff in the future with no additional costs (You could compare it to a season pass)
but right now
as in
"today" (The day it released) there is
1 racecar
1 racetrack
and nothing else
No Multiplayer
No Career
Just like the original Assetto Corsa game back when it first started.
So keep that in mind since on the steam page it will mention all these features in future tense but it does not say
"oh by the way there is only one car and one track"

I do recommend the game but (huge but) be aware what you are getting.

EDIT:
Slowly the content is pouring in with the updates, so this review is outdated.

Coming from iRacing / Assetto Corsa / R3E and having some reallife race car & track experience, I am very impressed.
Of course limited functionality so far but that was clearly communicated by Kunos. People who complain about this should better start to learn READING.

Regarding this first pre-release what stands out?
+ Incredibly good & believable physics
+ Tyre modeling by far the best of every Sim I played so far
+ No need for finetuning FFB settings, it works out of the box (Had only to limit the gain to around 95 with the CSW 2.5 to avoid some minor clipping)
+ Very, very demanding complex (yet believable!) driving behaviour to keep the car on the track and doing fast laps
+ Sound is the best out of every Sim so far (fast down shifts in the Lambo put a grin on your face every time)
+ Much more styled UI, especially compared to AC
– Usability of UI could be better
– Control configuration is not very usable (e.g. if I klick on some buttons I want to see that on the UI to check if it is already allocated)
– FOV settings limited (should be able to be done on the fly like in PCars2 including viewing angle!), btw. it is important more than in any other Sims to set the FOV right here, otherwise you have a hard time to handle the car and getting faster laps.
– Needs very strong system to run high FPS (with 8700k & 2×1080-sli sytem, it runs around 50-60 fps, I need 120 for my monitor!)
– I expected a bit more graphics-wise, it is on par with Pcars2, but not significantly better (could not use the raytracing feature obviously)

I guess most of these points probably will be adressed and are still in development until the official release. For Sim-racers, this is THE must-have title without any doubts. Too bad it only has GT3 Class cars. I crave for a title that uses this kind of physics with an title offering different car classes!

not a hardcore player here but i like a good simulator
this is something special, played AC, forza7, pc1,pc2 … but this is different, comes really close to how real race looks like on live tv, just done few laps and played replay, and is simply stunning, light, shadows, attention to details, sound are fantastic, no need to worry about how driving is going to feel controls/feedback etc…. anyone who played AC will know why and it is a beta version so its just going to get better and better
played full hd on GTX980Ti, i7 4.5, 8g ram, ssd, smooth no issues
100% recommend

This game is fantastic.

Graphically it’s phenomenal, hands down the best looking racing game I’ve ever played, and one of the best looking games I’ve ever played overall, albeit you’ll need beefy hardware, works well on my 1070ti.

The sound design is equivalent to that of RaceRoom, absolutely top notch and completely immersive.

It has some of the best FFB with the right settings (dynamic dampening on 100%, trust me, it seems weird but use it)

The physics feel fantastic, every car handles very different, but still similar in a realistic sense. The advanced tire models also help truly bring the cars to life, and give you a good understanding of what it’s doing.

I would highly recommend this game to anyone, the GT series and cars are some of the best, competitive, fair racing, and I look forward to the ranked multiplayer and eSports scene for this game.

I’m surprised at the amount of good reviews this has at the moment. I’m in for the long term here and I’m sure it’ll be a polished sim by the end.

I was really looking forward to getting behind the wheel – however I was horrified at the handling of the cars and how unrealistic the cars felt.

I drove the Huracan GT3 car (which I’ve raced in real life at Sebring 12h) and the car felt like it was on ice and constantly sliding with TC engaging in the weirdest way.

I find this sim even harder than driving the cars in real life. I’ve applied setups from real-world tests I’ve done in an effort to try and cure some of the handling issues but to no avail.

I feel ACC has a long way to go yet before the handling becomes ‘public friendly’ as even a real racing driver is having issues completing 1-2 laps without crashing due to characteristics that aren’t there in real life.

I’m not going to glorify this game in EA because I want Kunos to know this game (however amazing it is) is not anywhere near perfect yet, it has the potential to be way more than it is in its current state and they should get that info now during the beta testing.

Pros:
– Great Sound (believable in every camera view)
– Graphics (new effects are always welcomed)
– UI (huge improvement)
– Car Physics (weight is more believable)
– Tire model (Feels more like the grip of real tires – rather than sim grippiness)

— Graphics —
Happy to say that the graphics are lot sharper and cleaner now. The game used to suffer from the infamous UE screen-door shadow problems, but they are minimal if not unnoticable now. The game’s detail has been improved now that the AA is not smearing the entire screen.

Cons:
— Performance —
Still needs some improvement in the optimization department, but overall the game is performing much better than it did when it initially launched!

I know I put a bit down in the cons, but that’s because this is what EA is for, it’s for us to let Kunos know, "Great work!…so far…let’s make it EVEN better by doing X, Y, and Z". Seriously though Kunos, fantastic job! I really can’t wait to see how this game grows to fruition!

Update 0.6.3
– Things are looking positive now! I’m not sure how to explain it, but everything is starting to click now. The physics are feeling good, the FFB is good, the AI is MUCH better than before in 0.2.0. The UI is better…everything just feels much more polished. Content is still missing and maybe even a sense of progress, but overall the game feels like a true GT3 sim game now! Great job!

Night and rain was missing so bad to Assetto Corsa, now that’s fixed. And the Blancpain series is so awesome! Looks how great it is!

The final release could be, could be, THE race sim I’m looking for so many years. There are so great sim around, but all of them have pros and cons. This one could be the almost perfect game I’m waiting. Tracks and cars number should be a little small, because of the official licence, but if mods are allowed (and hopefully Assetto Corsa compatible) the game will become the best.
