About This Content

A region rich in history and culture promises great material riches to the empire that can control its trade. The competition for territory and access to the wealth of India requires diplomatic tact and some military muscle. But who is exploiting whom in this great game in the world’s most profitable markets?

Europa Universalis IV: Dharma is a new expansion for Paradox Development Studio’s classic game about exploration and empire building in the early modern era. Dharma devotes its greatest attentions to the battles over the control of India’s trade and territory. It also hopes to add more peace time decisions to fill in those quiet moments when you are planning your next big push for power.

Features of Europa Universalis IV: Dharma include:

Design Your Government:

Unlock reforms that will define how you govern your kingdom or republic, earning free policies and boosting the power of some estates.

Reworked Policy System:

Policies get a new look in the free update, but Dharma will include special bonuses that make this system even more attractive.

Trade Company Investments:

Upgrade and improve the provinces tied to your trade companies, conferring bonuses both to the European master and neighboring Indian nations.

New Indian Mission Trees:

Unique mission paths for the most important Indian sultanates and kingdoms.

New Indian Estates:

Alongside a free update to the estate system, India gets five new castes. Raise the brahmins to reduce unrest in a province or install Jain governors for a boost to income while reducing manpower..

New Mughal Culture Bonus:

The Mughal Empire can assimilate and accommodate newly conquered cultures with ease.

Charter Companies:

Europeans can buy a foothold into trade charter zones in Africa and Asia, if they can find a prince that trusts them.

Europa Universalis IV is a great game and I have a lot of fun playing it… but a lot of anger ruins this game for me, let me explain. I bought this game and had a great time learning the game (The Learning curve is fine in this game) after learning the game I tried to play are hard as possible, I started making challenges for myself and played on Normal mode, This was fun and whenever I messed up I would load another save. I wanted a challenge and I wanted to get achievements (Which you can only get on Ironman mode) so I started some games on Ironman mode and had fun playing on Ironman mode (In Ironman you cant load saves so you can’t mess up) It’s unforgiving but when you win that war or win the battle knowing your on Ironman mode it’s amazing. After playing the main Powers in Europe, Asia ext, I wanted to play as minors (Savoy, Wallachia ext) which was fun and I got far, at time wining battles or wars that I shouldn’t have won.. But most of the time I would kick the bucket before reaching my goals. As Wallachia the Ottomans came over, said hi and I lost which is aright. For Savoy I took most of Upper Italy and had Colonies in Brazil, it was a great game until I heir died and france PU’d me, I was stuck and there was nothing I could do, they had better tech and bigger army’s, I can’t ask for help because I don’t have DLC. DLC is really the problem I have, I remember a time when I could ask for help as a PU but they made it DLC and now I need to buy that to play most nations that have a bad start or is in a PU at the start of the game. In the same save I had my Colonies but they did nothing most of the wars I was in, I could fix this by buying DLC which is normally around 15$-21$ CA, and I don’t have the money to keep buying DLC whenever I need it. So really that’s the only thing I have against this game, The amount of things locked behind payed DLC. If you have the money then this game is amazing but if you don’t have much then this game will just remind you of what you could have(Which is the part that just pisses my off). This game is 239$ CA with all of its DLC as of making this. I don’t think you need all the DLC but you need a lot of the DLC to play this game at its full, So for that reason I will be give the game a fat No for most people. (If you have questions or don’t understand some of my point then comment and I will try to respond, I realize that my wording doesn’t always make sence)

Why is playing Austria so ♥♥♥♥ing awful. You got 0 room to expand and even if you do expand into Venice you get tons of AE. Everyone is talking about PUs but I can’t get even one? When I’m playing as something else than Austria the AI Austria always get’s…

You know, I’ve always loved paradox games for their complexity and I’d still recommend them to anyone with an aptitude for strategy games. That being said, I wanted to play through a Europa 4 campaign, and as I’m checking to make sure that I’m up to date on my expansions, I’m noticing a whole slew of "content packs" that are seemingly overpriced and should have been included in their respective expansion packs. I’d love the full experience, but seeing this it just comes off like an attempt at milking the playerbase for 10 extra dollars here and there, and it really kind of kills my urge to buy them or even play the game. There is clearly a negative consensus on the pricing of these DLCs and it’s apparently being ignored by Paradox. It’s kind of an unfortunate situation for what is otherwise a great game. I’d still recommend the game, but I’m going to leave a thumbs down in hopes that this issue gets some well deserved attention.

Are there any mods that prohibits the AI vassal from giving up unlawful HRE territory whenever the emperor demands it?It is super annoying fighitng a big war and giving some land to my vassal only for the vassal to give up the land behind my back.
